The Tkaronto Cotton Crew reclaims the Mohawk origins of the word "Toronto," derived from "Tkaronto," meaning "where the trees are standing in the water." As an Indigenous-owned brand, we are reclaiming space today, ensuring that the roots of this word are recognized and visible.
This crewneck symbolizes Tkaronto by merging the image of trees with the modern Toronto skyline, reflecting the city in the water. It’s more than just clothing—it's a powerful statement about the present-day importance of Indigenous voices. Each garment features a QR code at the hem to easily share the story behind the design and its translation.
