"Makwa is the very first word I learned in Anishinaabemowin. Bears are courageous protectors and healers. Their knowledge of plants and medicines is essential to their survival. These selfless guardians protect the life of their communities and lovedones. There are so many things that can be learned from these beautiful creatures."
